win11 + NEW HANA KIMI FROM 2024 17/5
I'm heavily considering switching to linux because MAN do I hate windows 11. If I end up doing that then it'll probably be after summer break starts. In any case I'm gonna have to switch my older computer to linux one day soon because windows 10's support will end and even if it fit the hardware requirements for 11 I would hate to do that to it. I'll miss windows-only programs but if I really wanted to I could just use a virtual machine or wine.
Okay enough about that!!! Have you guys seen the old hana kimi fansites I put on the links page of this website recently? Hana kimi was a shoujo manga that ran from 1996 to 2004 and it got 4 different live action show adaptations and also several drama cds. Never an anime though..... until TWO DAYS AGO where an anime got announced. I can still hardly believe that this is being produced, I'll watch it whenever it starts airing.
STRANGE WEIß KREUZ FROM 2002 3/5
today i have information to share with all of you. for background context, weib kreuz started out as a light novel written by kenichi kanemaki and illustrated by kyoko tsuchiya, then in the very same year of 1998 it became an anime. in 1999 the series got an OVA and there were no more animated weib kreuz things after that............ Until 2002.
in 2002 some anime studio decided to make a second season of the weib kreuz anime called weib kreuz: glühen. but they didn't consult the artist who originally designed the characters so she sued them. and won! (good for her!!!) which meant they had to redesign the characters.
look at them they are so ugly. now here's where i start talking about the plot of this show so SPOILERS AHEAD. if you want to see a show with some batshit pacing and weird unexplained plot elements AND MORE then i highly reccomend it.
the show starts out with our main character in high school, there is a terrible evil screensaver and a terrible evil student council that's making people jump off the roof. that student council also has a cult initiation process where the person joining the student council has to kill someone else. if you think im explaining this poorly thats just how the show is.
the student council disappears into total irrelevance after like. the 4th episode. THATS NOT ALL!!!
they introduce psychic abilities REALLY LATE INTO THE SHOW and It Makes No Sense At All. There is an evil computer. they kill the protagonist in the 11th episode. in the last episode one guy from the main gang is incarcerated? he plays prison soccer in there (his life's calling).
BUT I'VE SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST. see the guy on the right of that image i put up above? his name's aya and he was a pretty beloved character from the original series
(from what i've found by reading old weib kreuz websites). guess what happens to him right at the end of the very last episode. he's walking in the city okay. random kid in an alleyway has a knife. HE GETS STABBED BY THAT KID WITH A KNIFE. FOR NO REASON. AND HE DIES!! IN A WAY THAT WAS NOT WARRENTED BY THE PLOT WHATSOEVER. this guy was an assassin by the way. he gets stabbed once and immediately keels over dead on the nearest mailbox in the greatest subversion of the general rule of thumb in writing, "things should happen for some sort of reason" that i've ever seen.
There Are A Lot More Things I Didn't Mention like the main character's mom being evil or the one off mention of The Keeper of Time or The Temple of The Underworld. you should watch it. the gif above is the evil screensaver by the way. they call that thing a subliminal message.
i still don't get why this show was made because i can't imagine fans of the original series liking it due to none of the original characters getting particularly good or satisfying endings to their stories, and i don't know why someone who didn't like the original series would watch this. a mystery!!!
thank you to my friend mel for watching this show and also finding out details about the lawsuit!!!
compact discs 26/3
hi again everyone school is going marginally better than it was a few weeks ago.
i got some cds about two weeks ago, pictured to the right. i ended up buying Windows98/Me/2000/XP CDソフト ブラック・ジャック vol. 2 because it was cheap and i was curious, there are two e-comic cd roms in there. i still have yet to open them on my computer since i think i'd need to install a virtual machine and i'm putting that off.
speaking of cds, i started making a web page dedicated to music i listen to today. excited to finish it!!! i also want to make a page for shitty horror movies eventually because i like those but it'll probably be a while.
also, i've ripped the takarazuka cds already but i still have to finish naming the tracks. i'll probably link those in the music page when i'm done with it
what's up 10/2
updated the layout of this page!! as well as the namari hime one!!!!
second semester of school has started just a week ago and it's kicking the shit out of me but it's okay i'm sure everything will get better with time.
I'm planning a potential art project that i don't want to reveal yet but it would come out some time in august. speaking of, i swear i'll make an art gallery page soon. i do draw stuff i promise, most of it is just unfinished sketches.
i want to replay OFF but this time with the original french version to practice reading, that'll be fun i think!!
movie 13/1
been into watching those lately, a bit ago i was watching bad horror movies with my friend and most of them were incredibly bad and boring EXCEPT for this one called troll 2. that one was so fucking fun. don't be scared of the title, its actually a sequel and there aren't even any trolls in it. it was SO BAD and SO CAMP and i loved it.
besides that, i was looking around some shopping site and i found a. black jack themed computer cd for win 98? or at least that's what i think it is. all i know about this thing is that it's called 「Windows98/Me/2000/XP CDソフト ブラック・ジャック」and has 4 volumes. i would try and test this thing out but i don't want to install a virtual machine just for that and i don't even know how buying this thing would work.
